High-Grade Cherry Shrimp (USA Bred Bloody Mary Neocaridina)

The shrimp you are buying are born and bred in the United States of America, in the State of Indiana.

We do not sell imported animals and never will.

High-Grade Cherry Shrimp (Neocaridina davidi) famous for their deep red coloration and shining carapaces, which make them appear to be swimming gemstones, these bright red shrimp are known widely as Bloody Mary Shrimp.

High-Grade Bloody Mary Shrimp reflect the light beautifully and are more brilliantly red than Painted Fire Red or Sakura.

They are a freshwater high-order shrimp that carry their eggs, which hatch into miniature copies of the adults. There is no larval stage.

Cherry Shrimp are celebrated world-wide for their beauty and hardiness.

Pictures are not to scale. You will not get the exact shrimp pictured. Every shrimp is different, just like people. You are buying shrimp from the same lineage as the exceptional animals pictured. The genetics are there but not every animal can be best-in-show.

Cherry shrimp are often stressed from traveling and may arrive with pale color. 

Cherry shrimp do their best to blend in, like a chameleon. When stressed, males may try to go clear and females may lighten up their backs, giving them a stripe. This is normal for all color variants of Neocaridina davidi, including Neocaridina davidi var. Bloody Mary. Their color will return to normal over time if you have dark decor and dark substrate.

Your aquarium needs to be at least 3 months old before you add shrimp.

Test your water before you buy shrimp, not after they start dying... too late.

Shrimp need at least a 10% water change every week. Use a double dose of dechlorinator.

Size: 0.25"+  (0.635+ cm)

At this size these dwarf shrimp are already a brilliant red and they travel very well.

Over time, depending on the nutrition, water quality, and temperature you provide, these shrimp will grow to around 1" (2.54+ cm) in your tank.

"Dwarf Shrimp" literally translates to "Small Small" so if you are expecting a pet lobster you will be disappointed.

Your Fish will eat these shrimp, that's what Fish do. Once your shrimp colony is established you can slowly add Small Fish that stay small.
